![]() ![]() On to the story, which unfortunately moves so quickly I simply can't keep up with it, it's very telling that the most fun I truly had with the game was playing as MJ sneaking past bad guys as the game allows you to finally take a breath and slow the pace of things down. The web swinging while fun can at times feel awkward and unnecessarily slow and lacking variety in it's use of interesting animation. The combat while very good, simply lacks variety in terms of enemies and challenges. However, this is often exactly how it feels while playing this game.Ī biggest aspect of the game is probably it's combat system. Video games aren't meant to feel like doing chores. No challenge involved of course, that would be too much for its target audience. Grab backpack, take picture of monument, rinse and repeat. It often feels like I'm just ticking things off a daily to do list, except I'm playing a video game which is meant to be fun. Repetitive game systems, a story that can't keep the player immersed, side activities that are dull tedious, a world that won't stop throwing meaningless content at you. The game has one of the highest opencritic scores out there, and yet to me it seems to commit every open world game sin in the book. But - and this is a big but - he doesn't have any superpowers, and his weapon of choice is a walking stick (that's secretly an energy blaster, but still). Despite his bulk and the fact that he's protected by hired goons, Fisk is more than capable of holding his own in a fight. Though Kingpin doesn't appear in "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," he looms as a foreboding presence in multiple universes. But the character has never been more enormous than in "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," where his body is so inhumanely large, it rarely all fits within the box of the screen. The character has been played by Vincent D'Onofrio in Netflix's "Daredevil" and in Disney+'s "Hawkeye." He'll reprise his role again in the upcoming "Echo" series and "Daredevil: Born Again."
